ABOUT THE OSAKA NOW BLOG
Born out of a love for Osaka and the Kansai region, OSAKA NOW is about discovering all the greatness that the city has to offer; art, entertainment, food, festivals, and shopping, just to name a few! Here you’ll find guides, our top picks, interviews, travel tips and advice on how to get the most fulfilling Osaka experience.
Adrienne Hruby grew up in the states but has been calling Osaka home for nearly the last 10 years. An artist and avid appreciator of art, she majored in Art History and Japanese in Colorado before moving to London to complete a Masters in Art at Sotheby’s Institute of Art. Missing the tasty street food and the bright lights, Osaka drew her back once more. She now happily spends her time making her favorite city; with its vibrant art, music, food and entertainment scene, more easily accessible to both Japanese and non-Japanese speakers alike! Her role at OSAKA NOW goes beyond translation as she gives her personal recommendations on all of Osaka’s must dos!
Candice Fujimura grew up in Southern California. At the age of 14, she moved to Japan where she finished her education and learned more about her cultural roots. At Doshisha Women’s College, she majored in the Liberal Arts department where she learned about international events and had a chance to study at the University of California – Irvine. She is passionate about writing, learning about other cultures and language. She is currently aiming to master Spanish in addition to other languages she already knows. When she’s not writing, she enjoys going around Osaka to check out the latest live music. At OSAKA NOW, she hopes to help make Osaka a welcoming place for international visitors and residents.
