Look Out Osaka, There’s a New Pie in Town!

THE PIE SHOP

With winter’s arrival, the opening of Shinsaibashi’s THE PIE SHOP couldn’t be timed better. I’m quite certain that warm pie and coffee will be the only thing keeping me alive through the chilly months ahead. Nestled behind the Nikko Hotel, THE PIE SHOP is the third venture from the team behind Critters Burger and Westwood Bakery. Like the two before it, THE PIE SHOP, pays homage to the best of Americana while maintaining a distinctly Osakan twist. Helloooo, home made Green Tea Custard Pie!

THE PIE SHOP

Although open just a week, THE PIE SHOP feels nothing like a recent ‘pop up’. In fact, on my first visit I felt as the place has been around for ages and must naturally be deeply rooted in the Osaka cafe scene. This in part, comes from the attention to detail that has clearly been invested in the space. From the hand-painted door signs and vintage coffee trinkets, to the original rose/skull wallpaper and neon wall art, the shop is just as delicious as it’s pies. The boys behind it clearly want to give their customers the best experience they can have.

The shop, with a selection of pies to choose from, and the option of almond milk for lattes, (such a rarity in Osaka!), is probably one of the most Instagrammable spaces I’ve been to in a while. I mean, just look at that checkered tiling!! Open daily, from 10am to 8pm stop on by for your pie fix anytime.
