OSARU Coffee – Cafes Osaka
Your new favorite cafe!
OSARU Coffee is one of the newest in a stream of coffee houses and cafes popping up over Osaka. Located between Namba OCAT and Naniwa Park, this sweet little corner cafe has brought delicious drip coffee to Motomachi. Bright and airy OSARU’s indoor-outdoor feel make it the ideal neighborhood shop for slowly sipping away the day.
The raised seating area, where customers are required to take off their shoes, is lined with floor to ceiling bookshelves stocked with something for everyone. Here, the mismatched seating and low tables create a cozy living room feel, a nice change to the sleek minimalist design that so many other new cafes in the area have gone for.
Run solely by the owner, it can take a little bit of time to get your drink. Luckily, while you wait you’re encouraged to grab a seat and have a flip through the many books and magazines. For customers in a bit more of a hurry there is the option to get your order to-go. The front table offers up some tree-stump seating surrounded by greenery. It’s the perfect spot to perch, wait for a brew and be on your way (the concrete flooring here means that you don’t have to take your shoes off in this area). It’s worth noting that although OSARU does serve a few tasty pastries and basic baked goods, it’s definitely more of a coffee shop than a cafe and doesn’t really have a full food menu. That being said, the pastries I did try were delicious and the perfect pairing for my mid-afternoon hit of caffeine.
